Well, I guess we have had a fireplace for over a year. But we didn't know if it was safe to use until the fireplace was inspected this past summer. When we got the go ahead to use it, I was so excited to try it out this winter. Now that it is cold outside and we have our Christmas decorations up, we felt it was time for our first fire. Being home and enjoying our parents fireplaces also inspired us. We got a bunch of the Duraflame logs, and it has been super simple to light a fire almost every night. The first night we lit the fire, I put on a Christmas movie and ate one of my favorite Christmas treats (freezer candy) on my Spode Christmas Tree dishes. Heaven!
