Peachy keen

Last week Miles and I went peach picking at Buell's Orchard (about 30 minutes away).  FYI- Buell's apparently has apple picking, homemade donuts, and fresh cider in the fall.  Hallelujah!  Anyways, peach picking is so much easier than raspberry picking!  It wasn't work at all.  Miles loved helping me pick, and he especially liked that I let him eat one :)  I took a ton of amazing pictures and then came home to realize my camera was on a weird setting, so none of them turned out.  Lesson learned!  I was sooo sad.

Anyways, we waited several days for the peaches to fully ripen, and then I invited my new friend Caroline to come over and help me can.  I was so happy to have her help!  It is always more fun to can with someone.  Last time my mom and I canned we ended up with just 2 quarts- all that work for so little!  This time we did a little better and got much more than that.

A few days later I used up all of the remaining peaches to make peach jam.  I don't have any pictures because I finished at 2am and was too tired.  But the jam is the perfect consistency.  I think I am a canning crazy woman now :)
