Emmy and Richard's Visit

Richard's mom and dad just left yesterday after being with us for a week (well Emmy was here for a week, and Richard was here for 3 days).  It was wonderful to have them here and show them our new place, neighborhood, grocery store, church, etc.  Emmy helped me get a lot of projects done, mainly the basement. We completely organized it and it looks amazing!  She also woke up with Miles in the morning and babysat for us so we could go on a date.  We did some cooking (including recreating Richard's favorite dish from Palio's), ate at the dairy bar, played in the sprinkler and at the pool, and visited where Emmy grew up in Bloomfield, CT.  We had a lot of fun and Miles loved having them here.  We hope they come back soon!

Playing with his new toy from Aunt Carolyn.  Nothing better than a truck!

Daddy hugs at the UConn Dairy Bar

Miles loved running up and down the ramp.  Then a little boy followed him down and Miles thought he was playing chase so he was running and looking over his shoulder and laughing and then SMACK ran head first into the wooden trash can.  Didn't even cry.

This is how Miles tells you he wants some of your ice cream...ahhhhhh

Miles loves (and is slightly scared of) our neighbor's cat, Crawford

Here's the original picture of Richard's favorite dish from Palio

Here's our version.  It was actually amazingly close and tasted great!  Definitely will be making this again.

Trying to drink from his watering can.  I was trying to show him that it was for the plants, but he didn't believe me.

Uh oh, Miles accidentally watered himself instead!  Guess what's what happens when you give a toddler a watering can.

Playing in the sprinkler.  How is this the only picture I have of Emmy?

We showed him how to drink from the sprinkler

Daddy is always the most fun

and drinking from it

We went to the pool

We got this piano and a little rocking chair (not pictured) for Miles off craigslist.

Miles wanted to go lay on the pillow Richard was using

Hanging out

I love these pics! I love the new place! The neighborhood looks like a dream! All that space for Miles to run around. We can't wait to visit!
