After spending Christmas Eve with my family, we headed back to the Burton's. Before we put Miles to bed, we made sure to leave cookies and milk for Santa Clause. As we left the family room and went to put Miles to bed he said to everyone, "Don't eat the cookies. They're for Santa. Merry Christmas to you all!" It was so much fun having Miles really 'get it' this year. Also, note to all other rookie parents, Santa should not eat the cookies until all children are in bed and ASLEEP. I'll just say we had a close call.
We woke up in the morning and everyone met upstairs in Richard's parents' bedroom. Then we headed downstairs together to open presents. Santa Clause had brought Miles a basketball hoop, which was fun because it was out in the middle of the room for him to see right away. It was wonderful opening our stockings and presents. Our families are so generous. However, Miles got a little overwhelmed. So as we ate breakfast, he brought his toys to the basement and played by himself. It can be a little crazy with all of the kids and people around and he is used to having quiet time to play by himself. Sweet boy.
PS James was sleeping while most of this was happening. That's why he is not in the pictures.

Miles picked out a nerf gun all by himself for Daddy. He picked out pink stud heart-shaped earrings for me :)
