We arrived in San Diego, California on Thursday afternoon. There are no direct flights from our Hartford airport, so it was a long day of flying. Even though it was exhausting, Miles was a trooper and really well behaved (don't forget the 3 hr time change). After we checked into our hotel, we said hi to everyone, ate some dinner, and the girls headed to Abby's bridal shower!
On Friday morning we ate a yummy breakfast in the hotel's restaurant and then met our friends the Dahlquists for lunch at a nearby mall. The Dahlquists were some of our best friends in Ann Arbor, and I was so excited to have an excuse to see them. I couldn't believe our luck that we were going to be in San Diego, so close to where they live!
On Friday night we had babysitters come to the hotel so we could go to the rehearsal dinner at the local country club, which Richard's parents were hosting. It was a beautiful night with yummy food, that included the traditional toasts by the Matron of Honor and Best Man (Richard did a wonderful job) and the funny 'Get me to the church' song sung by the men, with lyrics written by Richard's grandma (you should have heard the ones she wrote for our wedding!).
