Miles 4th Birthday

For Miles' birthday in November, he wore his new spiderman shirt to preschool and Daddy was the mystery reader.  Then that night we had a birthday party with pizza, ice cream cake and all our family, including both sets of grandparents, Andrew and Abby, Aunt Carolyn, and Diane and Arthur (in town from TX).  He was very excited for everyone to wear party hats, and of course, super excited for presents.  This boy is obsessed with presents.  He was gracious and excited for each of his presents and then wanted to have some alone time to play with his new toys.  I think it is a little overwhelming to be the birthday boy sometimes, especially with a full house like that!

Miles is smart, funny, thoughtful, snuggly, sweet, competitive, silly, sensitive, and empathetic.

A few more things about Miles:
  1. Will get out of bed at night and use the excuse, "I got a text."
  2. Asks to have his quiet time every day, where he has a lollipop, a juice box, and watches YouTube videos of toy reviews while playing with his toys.
  3. Doesn't want us to watch him when he is clapping or dancing to music.
  4. Miles is very thoughtful and caring.  He gets concerned with how we are feeling and if we are hurt.  One small example, Miles was eating his Halloween candy, and when Richard said that one of the pieces was his favorite, Miles gave it to him and said, "Here Daddy you can have it."
  5. Mixes up black and white and skips 7 when counting.
  6. He loves his routines and wants things a certain way.
  7. He always wants to do know what we are doing the next day, where we are going, and who's coming over.  He really likes having company come over or going to other peoples houses.
  8. Miles loves his brother more than anything else.  He always wants to snuggle and hug James, who unfortunately, is not the most snuggly.  Whenever he does get a hug he runs up to us to announce that James hugged him and that James loves him.
Sayings and phrases from Miles:
  1. That's not my favorite.
  2. Start at the ending (meaning the beginning).
  3. What you said?
  4. Are you telling Daddy to marry you?  (when he sees us hugging)
  5. Did I get bleed on me? (whenever he gets hurt it's important to know whether there is any bleed, not blood)
  6. Aminals (animals), plee-ano (piano), lay-be (maybe), to-later (later), recipe (instructions), lello (yellow)
  7. I don't want to go to Jesus. I don't want to go to God.  I don't want to go to the doctor! (his rant when I told him about going to the doctor for the flu shot)
