Let it snow

It is no secret that I love snow.  I love love love it.  So when I looked outside the other day at 10:30am and saw little flurries I couldn't believe it!  I knew we were expecting a nor'easter, but the weather reports looked like rain.  Yay for a wonderful surprise!  It ended up flurrying until mid afternoon and then the snow started accumulating.  Luckily Richard made it home safely from school, since the roads became treacherous very quickly.  Miles and I headed out in the morning and played in it will it was coming down.  When he went down for his nap I made myself a cup of my favorite hot chocolate (William Sonoma's Peppermint Hot Chocolate) and was blessed by a 3 1/2 hour nap from Miles.  I even watched a Christmas movie in celebration that night (Holiday Inn).  It was a perfect day!

It kept snowing through the night and we woke up to a beautiful white landscape the next morning.  So Miles and I bundled up again to play in the snow.  It was more fun this time since snow had actually accumulated.  We played on the sled, built a snowman, and his favorite part was making snowballs.  He was so amazed with the fact that we could make balls out of the snow (it was perfect packing snow).  I would make him a snowball and then he would drop it and watch it splat to the ground.  Luckily I already had his snow pants, hat, coat, cotton gloves and rain boots (which worked as makeshift snow boots).  The next day I ordered his snow boots and waterproof gloves!

Looking out the window at the snow

Enjoying the snow as it was falling in the morning

We walked to Julia's house to say hi.  They had fun making funny faces by pressing up against the glass on the door.

By nap time it was starting to stick

At night it was still going strong

We woke up to this...

Cute boy so excited to go outside!  He didn't even mind that I made him put on gloves.  He was willing to do anything to get out there.

Using my parents' sled that they brought to us on their last visit.  So glad they did!

Miles loved it!  More, more, more....

Snowballs!  Miles still points at the snow that is left on the ground and says BALL!

Helping me build the snowman

Pretty good if I say so myself :)

We just need a top hat!  And the Frost the Snowman DVD!

That snowman is very impressive! I can't show my girls though because we only took the time to build miniature snowmen. :). I love how much Miles loves to be outside!

I must admit, I love living in a place without snow but this post makes me long for a snow day. I love how much fun you all are having!!
