A little escape

On Monday, Richard had a last minute idea (he's so spontaneous!).  We decided to go to a bed and breakfast on Tuesday night and get away for a night (with Miles of course).  We drove to Saginaw, Michigan to stay at the Montague Inn.  It isn't much of a town, but the inn was great, especially since we stayed in the large suite.  We put Miles to bed in the sitting room in his pack and play, and then we enjoyed reading, relaxing, and watching Cinderella Man by the gas fireplace (great movie).  Then the next morning, after breakfast, we went to Frankenmuth, Michigan, which is also known as Michigan's Little Bavaria.  We didn't really do much there, but we did check out Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland (the world's largest Christmas store).  Overall, it was really fun and a great little adventure :)

Eating at Applebee's...Miles is having fun!

Miles was so excited to crawl around and explore.  He was moving so fast, it was really cute!

Loved the gas fireplace

What a fun little getaway! We have been to Bronner's and it is amazing...I couldn't believe all the decorations and Christmas things they had in that store! You could take a whole day to walk through and explore everything.

So fun! Did you know Abby Dunford is from Sagniaw? (: Frankenmuth is a fun little place too. Glad you got to get away. I also just caught myself up on Miles' videos... so cute! I love the tag one. I need to film Maddie more! Thanks for the good example.

Frankenmuth used to be a family tradition every year for our family. We'd all meet up at Zenders for their chicken dinners (my grandpa was the official Santa there for I don't know how many years) and then go through Bronners! That brings back lots of memories for me too! It is such a fun place. Did you guys get to go sample all the fudge from the shops too?

Oh that looks like so much fun! Especially coming from the land of the eternal summer :) How did you stumble upon it all? Those getaways make such a difference. I love seeing little Miles STANDING by the bed, looking light a downright toddler!
