Last weekend Richard and I went to NY for the weekend! One of my Christmas presents was a 2-night stay in the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. We drove up Friday morning and came back Sunday afternoon.
Here we are using our new Garmin as we drive to New York.

The Roosevelt Hotel was perfect (especially the lobby). Richard had done a lot of research, and I'm so glad he picked this as the place for us to stay. The hotel was built in 1924 and has such an interesting history. For example, at midnight on New Year's Eve in 1929 in the Roosevelt Grill, the hotel's restaurant, Guy Lombardo performed "Auld Lang Syne" for the first time, popularizing the song and beginning a tradition that would last to this day. We also loved that they still had their beautiful Christmas decorations up in the lobby.
When we arrived Friday, first we walked to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas tree. We had dinner in Little Italy and then we went to a jazz club, called Sweet Rhythm. Saturday we had breakfast at Ess-a-bagel. Then we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the afternoon we waited in Times Square to get discount tickets to see Gypsy on Broadway Saturday night.

Anyways, we had a great time. And guess what...FOUR different sets of people asked us for directions! I guess we must look like New Yorkers. Richard keeps saying it was my shoes...haha
